RNVPN FAQs
Find the relevant guidance by stage, from account setup and subscription imports to route troubleshooting and refund requests. Answers are based on the current service rules and user panel.
HOW TO USE
Identify where the problem occurs first
When a connection fails, first determine whether the issue lies with the account, subscription, client, local network, or target service. Change one condition at a time and record the results before and after; this is more effective than reinstalling, changing routes, and editing rules all at once.
For orders, subscription issues, or cases requiring a backend review, sign in to the user panel and submit a ticket. Include the platform, route name, observed behavior, and steps already tried to reduce repeated questions.
ACCOUNT & SUBSCRIPTION
Accounts and subscriptions
Registration requirements, subscription-link security, device changes, and client updates.
What do I need to register?
A username and password are all you need; no email address is required. Choose a username that is unlikely to be confused with one used on another site, and create a strong password dedicated to this service. After registering, keep your login details secure and avoid sharing account credentials or subscription links on public pages or shared documents.
What is a subscription link, and why should I keep it secure?
A subscription link imports available routes into a client. It contains information needed to identify the subscription and should be protected like account credentials. Do not post screenshots of the link in public groups or submit it to untrusted configuration-conversion pages. If you suspect the link has been exposed, stop sharing it and submit a ticket through the user panel with the details.
Do I need to buy another plan after changing devices?
No. Changing devices does not require another purchase. RNVPN supports unlimited devices and covers Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Sign in to the user panel on the new device, get the client and current subscription, then follow the import steps for that platform. The account and subscription should still be used reasonably by the account holder only.
How do I update a subscription in the client?
Open the user panel and copy the current subscription link, then open the client’s subscription management page and run an update. If the client has an old link saved, delete the old entry and import it again. You can disconnect before updating and select a route again when the update is complete. If the route list still has not changed, fully quit and reopen the client, and confirm that the link belongs to the current account.
What is the difference between a monthly subscription and a data package?
Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date, making it suitable for consistent use. A data package lasts until it is used up and never expires, making it better for irregular or occasional use. The two products use different billing models, so consider your usage frequency and expected data needs on the plans page rather than comparing only the one-time price.
CONNECTION & TROUBLESHOOTING
Connections and troubleshooting
Troubleshoot connection status, proxy mode, subscription imports, and system permissions step by step.
The client says it is connected, but webpages still will not open. What should I do?
Switch to another route and reopen the target webpage to rule out a temporary issue with one route. If the problem persists, disconnect, fully quit the client, and restart it. Check whether the client has enabled the system proxy or required proxy mode, and whether the browser is retaining problematic cache data. If other sites work but one site does not, first check the target site’s status and regional settings.
Why is an app not using the proxy?
A common cause is rule mode: the app’s requests may not match a proxy rule. The app may also use a networking method different from the system proxy. Switch to global mode for comparison. If global mode works, return to the rules and check the routing result. After changing modes, fully close and reopen the app so it does not keep reusing an old connection.
What should I do if no routes appear after importing a subscription?
First confirm that you imported it in the client’s subscription management area, not the single-route or local-configuration area. Run a manual subscription update and check whether the client reports a format error. If the list is still empty, delete the subscription, copy the complete link again from the user panel, and reimport it. Do not add spaces, line breaks, or other text while copying.
How should I troubleshoot frequent disconnections?
Use one fixed route while troubleshooting instead of switching automatically and repeatedly. Then check whether disconnections occur on both the current and other networks to distinguish local network instability from a route issue. Quit and restart the client, and check whether other software is running that changes proxy, routing, or network-filtering rules. If only a particular route repeatedly disconnects, include its name and your platform in the ticket.
What should I do if I cannot connect after a system update?
A system update may reset network permissions, proxy settings, or network extensions required by the client. Restart the device, then open the client and check whether the relevant permissions are still valid. If it asks you to allow network configuration again, complete the authorization in the system interface. If connection is still unavailable, get the current client from the user panel and reimport the subscription instead of continuing to use an outdated configuration.
SPEED & ROUTES
Speed and routes
Assess speed in the context of your local network, target region, route type, and specific application.
What should I do if video buffers during peak evening hours?
Peak-hour buffering is not always caused by the route. Local broadband congestion, wireless interference, and the video platform’s network exit can all affect playback. First try another route in the same target region, then lower the player quality to test whether the issue is related to sustained transfer. Close background downloads and cloud sync where possible, and use a stable local network. If several routes perform alike, also check the underlying network quality without a connection.
Should I choose by city or by route type?
Start by identifying the country or region required by the target service, then compare route types within that area. For region-restricted content, the exit region usually matters more than the city name. For cross-border work, prioritize connection stability and the actual access path. IEPL dedicated routes, relays, and direct connections use different link structures; do not judge speed by the label alone. The best choice depends on performance in your current network environment.
Why does the same route perform differently on different devices?
Device performance, wireless signal, the system networking stack, client mode, and background tasks can all affect results. The same route may also perform differently over wired and wireless networks. For a fair comparison, use the same network, target site, and client mode, and stop background transfers. If only one device behaves abnormally, rebuild its subscription configuration before assuming the route is at fault.
What should I do if a streaming service reports a region mismatch?
Confirm that the selected route’s exit region matches the target library, then fully close and reopen the streaming app. Browser users can clear the site’s cache and region-related data; app users should check for conflicts among the account region, content region, and current exit region. If other routes are available in the same region, switch and test again. Regional checks are performed by the platform and may change with its policies.
How broad is RNVPN’s route coverage?
RNVPN offers 120+ countries / 230+ routes. Rather than looking only at the total, identify your target region and use case first, then compare routes in that region. The best choice can differ for web access, cross-border work, and streaming. When an issue occurs, switching to another route in the same region is usually more effective than choosing a much farther region at random.
BILLING & REFUNDS
Billing and refunds
Check the plan type, data-reset method, payment channel, and refund-request path.
What monthly subscription prices and data allowances are available?
Monthly subscriptions: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB · ¥18/month includes 250GB · ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date, and mid-cycle upgrades are prorated by the remaining days. Consider your typical streaming, download, and cross-border work usage rather than judging by price alone. See the plans page and user panel for complete purchase details.
What data package sizes are available?
Data packages remain valid until used and never expire: ¥158/300GB · ¥358/1000GB · ¥658/3000GB. They suit irregular usage and anyone who does not want data to reset monthly. Data packages and monthly subscriptions use different billing models, so confirm your needs before purchasing rather than treating a data package as a subscription that refills each month.
Which payment methods are supported?
Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are currently supported. Open the user panel, choose a plan, and view the available methods at checkout. Recheck the plan type, data allowance, and price before paying, and keep the order details afterward. If the order status does not update normally, do not create multiple identical orders. Refresh the order page first, then submit a ticket for review.
How do I request a refund?
RNVPN offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. Sign in to the user panel, open the ticket page, identify the order to be handled, and keep the order details available for verification. Confirm the specific order before submitting to avoid duplicate tickets. See the refund policy page for the complete terms.
When does plan data reset, and how are upgrades calculated?
Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date, not on the first day of the calendar month. For a mid-cycle upgrade, the price difference is prorated by the remaining days. Data packages do not reset monthly; they last until used and never expire. Before upgrading, check the current and target plans in the user panel so a monthly upgrade is not confused with purchasing an additional data package.
